A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the input and supplies its result. Johnson County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Johnson County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to Johnson County clerks and law-enforcement offices, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a search tool is governed by that partner's privacy policy. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure rules, which are outside our control. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Johnson County offices, Texas agency portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy controls that visit. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and choose ads. That processing does not occur on systems operated by Johnson County Criminal History.

Texas Government Code Chapter 411 controls criminal-history dissemination by the state; it does not turn visitor analytics into a criminal-history file. Subject to applicable law and verification, a visitor may:

- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Request deletion where the law permits it
- Opt out of certain processing where an applicable right exists
